A warm welcome to BUILD School of Construction (B.S.O.C LTD), a dynamic and vibrant place of learning occupying fabulous workshops in the heart of Hayes and Hounslow.  Here at B.S.O.C, we are very proud to be a non-selective alternative to school because we know that creative ability comes in many forms.

BSOC is a mixed Alternative Provision for students aged 14 - 25. We have high standards and expect our students to have good behaviour and be respectful. The majority of our learning community have an educational health care plan and are supported by a team of experienced staff who understand the needs of our students.

Inclusion for all is the ethos at B.S.O.C and we aim to provide a wealth of learning opportunities that develop and challenge, achievement, and creativity. We take Safeguarding and child protection very seriously. We believe that everyone has a fundamental right to be safe, therefore as an organisation we have a zero-tolerance approach towards bullying, abuse, exploitation and neglect.

Safeguarding is part of our everyday work, and we are fully committed to a practice which promotes partnership working to ensure the safety of our students at all times. Our Safeguarding Leads are Martin Abraham, Marcia Wootton and Karen Petch. We can be contacted at any time on 01895 541 222.

We work hard to deliver a broad and ambitious curriculum that prepares people for a sustainable career in construction. Our students learn through academic and practical sessions which are supported through planned projects and trips throughout the academic year.   B.S.O.C ‘s targets for all students is to develop their talents so that they can improve in all that they do.

Our students generally come to us from schools and Local authorities and do either, one, two or three day a week throughout the academic year. Our current schools are very supportive of our programme and acknowledge that construction is a serious contender when it comes to choosing a career. The construction industry has a significant skills gap that we collectively have to address, and it starts in school.

Throughout the year the BSOC construction roadshow visits schools so students can get a feel for construction/renewable trades. We offer fast-paced workshops that enable students to have a go at using power tools, bricklaying, electrics, plumbing and solar PV. This is all about show casing construction as a meaningful industry to work in.
